Quest Books

The quest book is your treasure map to adventure. Each year we publish clues for 15 to 20 trails throughout the South Shore. The book includes maps with directions to get to the trails, a set of clues for each trail, and fun facts to learn throughout the quest. We have put two quests online for you to try (these quests are not in the book, but may still be included in your patch count!) but we suggest you get all the quests by purchasing a book for $6.

General Information

Quests that are handicap accessible are indicated by the following: While many of these trails are paved, there maybe some sections with uneven ground (such as would be found on flat grassy areas). Additionally, some assistance may be required to retrieve the box from its hiding spot.

Double-crested cormorants sited along a trail in Hingham. Their rounded throat pouch is yellow-orange year-round. They are commonly found along coasts, inland lakes, and rivers.
